Akora Niathal is a disciple of Darth Sirena, a witch and member of the Sith Sisterhood.
Akora began to explore the Force in her late teens, rather than entering engineering school as her parents hoped. A promising student, she had defied the odds of the Empire's pro-human bias, even manifest in centers of higher learning on the Mon Cal colony world of Hinakuu. Her parents also feared the Empire's enforcers and thus sent her away to live with family friends on the far safer world of Manaan. Little did they know the history of the Order of Shasa. Akora discovered the Order while swimming deep in the ocean, and after rigorous testing became an initiate member. However, shortly thereafter, Darth Vader goaded the Order into committing acts of atrocity against the local human corporations, resulting in their fall to the Dark Side and induction into the Empire's Forcers. Akora participated in all of this and served the Empire alongside her Selkath teachers for many years.
She was eventually recruited by Darth Sirena and trained further. Noted for successful missions in the Tion Hegemony, Corporate Sector and Mon Calamari space itself, Akora is one of Sirena's most powerful students. She so exceeded her Master's expectations for loyalty and strength that she was taught a certain portion of Sirena's Sith Magic, and for a time was the only instructor at the Sith Academy who could teach it to worthy pupils. She was the keeper of the Sith Academy's holocron.
She was close with Golasj Murt, and quick to make connections with other nonhumanoid Sith. Even trainees from nonhumanoid species could expect a coldly benevolent wall-eyed stare from the piscine Sith Witch. She maintained connections with fallen former members of the Order of Shasa, some of which she brought to the Sith Academy.

Akora was trained by the Order of Shasa, then served the Empire for many years, and finally became a star pupil of Darth Sirena. She is conversant in many Force applications, is a respectable duelist, and knows some applications of true Sith Magic. Her ability to wage Force war underwater is unparalleled in the universe except for Lotak.
