- — Alessandra Jevata to Skarrek
Alessandra Jevata, also known as Miriasha D'Arcy, is an Arkanian Merchant who has had to rebuild her life more than once. She is the daughter of Glasius Golsan Jevata, who specialized in working as an intermediary for several underworld business ventures. Her father had been respected as an honest and reliable man in an environment where such traits were a rarity and was someone Alessandra had greatly loved and admired. She learned everything she could from her father about the world of business and would later successfully apply that knowledge to her own ventures.
Alessandra also had a brief relationship with Skarrek as the two found qualities they admired in each other that transcended boundaries of society or species. It would be cut short during the Xen'Chi War after Alessandra was almost killed when the invaders captured Thyferra. Although Alessandra survived, she received several physical and mental scars from the event. She would eventually heal and work through the trauma, but decided to keep a rather prominent scar across her face to remind her of what she had endured.
Throughout her life, Alessandra has proven that she can withstand whatever the galaxy throws her way. Her tenacity and ruthlessness to do whatever needs to be done has been the downfall of more than one opponent who dared to underestimate her.
History[]
Alessandra was born on Coruscant during the height of the Galactic Empire. Her father had moved his family to the Imperial capital before she was born to make sure his daughter wouldn't grow up around the arrogant and xenophobic attitudes common in Arkanian culture. Despite Coruscant being the center of High Human Culture, Alessandra was able to avoid the worst of it by virtue of being from a Near-Human race and being quite wealthy. She also had plenty of experience seeing her father treat all his clients with respect, no matter what species they were or where they came from.
Alessandra developed a love of water early on and it would often be a struggle for her parents to get her leave any time they went on an outing to any facility on Coruscant that had an indoor pool. As a special treat for her one year, her parents took her on vacation with some of her extended family to the Gold Beaches of Corellia. Unfortunately this would end in tragedy as one day while swimming in the water Alessandra ended up getting caught by a riptide and was swept out to sea.
Alessandra's older cousin, Corryn, attempted to swim out and rescue her but she was also caught by a current and pulled under the water. Although Alessandra would end up being rescued, Corryn was not so lucky. She ended up drowning in her attempt to save Alessandra. The incident would scar Alessandra for life. She needed six months of mental rehabilitation just to feel comfortable resuming her old life, but even so she retained a deep phobia of water from that day forward.
Many years later, when Alessandra was seventeen, she ended up losing her mother, Meera, to a tragic accident. This caused her father to focus more of his attention on her. He made sure to teach Alessandra everything he knew about business and even introduced her to some of his more trusted associates, such as fellow merchant Bal'Nar. He even eventually gave Alessandra access to his secret files in case something ever happened to him.
It would turn out to be a wise precaution...
The Frame Up[]
Tragedy struck Alessandra again in 12 ABY when her father was seemingly murdered by one of his clients, a Barabel Assassin known as Skarrek. She would eventually come to learn that Skarrek had been framed and that her father had been murdered because he had learned too much about the schemes of Kyn Rilos, a New Republic official who had wanted to become the new Chief of State by any means necessary. Working with Skarrek and Ket Maliss, Alessandra was eventually able to get revenge on her father's true killer and expose Rilos' plans before also killing him.
During the events to find her father's real killer, Alessandra would end up developing feelings for Skarrek. Although she initially thought of him as nothing more than a coldblooded killer - which was largely accurate - she also came to see another side of him. Despite his ferocity, she learned that Skarrek was an honorable and reliable ally who frequently risked his life to protect her because of a promise he had made to her father. Skarrek, in turn, came to admire Alessandra's inner-strength and willingness to do anything to avenge her father. He even referred to her as a "predator" which was a high compliment coming from Skarrek.
These mutual feelings of respect and admiration became romantic and the two enjoyed a brief time as a couple. They kept the relationship a secret since Skarrek had a long list of enemies and many of them wouldn't think twice about killing Alessandra just to get to him. However, the two of them found ways to make it work, such as building a secret getaway on Thyferra in an underwater cave where the two of them could have their privacy. The cave had become a special place for them while on the run from Rilos; Alessandra had confronted her fear of water to reach it and it was where she and Skarrek had first started to bond.
As the months passed and Alessandra got to know Skarrek better, she discovered that he knew very little about the culture of his own people since he had been abducted from his homeworld as an infant. She encouraged Skarrek to visit Barab I and learn more about where he came from. Skarrek was reluctant to leave her behind, since it would be suspicious for both of them to go, but Alessandra was eventually able to convince him to do it.
Little did either of them realize that tragedy was going to strike Alessandra once again...
A New Life[]
While Skarrek was away on Barab I, the galaxy was invaded by the Xen'Chi Dominion. With both the New Republic and the Empire weakened from constant fighting, the Xen'Chi were able to rapidly advance towards the Core Worlds. Alessandra found herself stuck on Thyferra when the Xen'Chi invaded the world and was almost killed during an orbital bombardment after a collapsing ceiling fell on top of her.
She survived to encounter, but woke up in a hospital with no memory of who she was. Her father's old friend, Bal'Nar, managed to find her and help her recover. However, rather than try to get Alessandra to remember her old life, filled with tragedy and loss, Bal'Nar opted instead to try and provide a happier life for her. He told her that she was Miriasha D'Arcy, an orphan he had had adopted many years ago to be his daughter.
With no one else to say differently, and no memories to contradict Bal'Nar's assertions, Alessandra accepted her new life as Miriasha. Bal'Nar's actions would cause Alessandra Jevata to officially be declared dead. Unbeknownst to either of them, this news would drive Skarrek into a rage that would see the slaughter of scores of Xen'Chi in Alessandra's name and earn Skarrek a place in Xen'Chi mythology as the "Black Beast" of the battlefield.
Forgotten Scars[]
Three years would pass after the events on Thyferra. Within that time Alessandra would come to fully accept her identity as Miriasha despite keeping a few ingrained quirks and mannerisms from her old life. She moved to Muunilinst, where Bal'Nar called home, and set up her own company: Meridian Capital Resources, which specialized in financial consultation. The company grew quickly under her leadership, to the point that it started to take business away from much larger companies that didn't appreciate the competition.
One of these companies was Mercury Ventures, run by a cutthroat CEO named Lyyn Sar. When it became clear to Sar that he wouldn't be able to crush Meridian Capital Resources through normal means, he secretly put a price on Miriasha's head to eliminate her. However Miriasha proved to be tougher to kill than expected, which led to Sar eventually hiring Skarrek to kill her.
Skarrek quickly figured out that Miriasha was in fact Alessandra and came up with a plan to be hired as her new bodyguard in an attempt to learn if there was any chance of her regaining her old memories. Being within close proximity to Skarrek did start to bring back feelings and images to Alessandra that she couldn't place, but it wouldn't be until she suffered a head wound from a group of mercenaries that were also trying to collect the bounty on her that it would all come rushing back.
The mercenary attack would also end up seeing her home go up in flames and Skarrek staying behind so she could escape. Alessandra once again vanished from the galaxy following the attack. Her whereabouts since that day remain unknown.
