The Cygnus Spaceworks Alpha-class Xg-1 Star Wing, commonly referred to as the Assault Gunboat, is the Galactic Empire's first general deployment starfighter to be equipped with shields and a hyperdrive.
While it is not a particularly fast ship, it has a decent level of maneuverability, strong shields, and powerful weaponry for its class. Its armament consists of two laser cannons, two ion cannons, and a pair of projectile launchers with a standard payload of 16 concussion missiles.
The Star Wing allows for the Empire to conduct assault missions without the need of a Star Destroyer or other carrier. It has proved very useful in minor attacks on space stations and platforms.
The Xg-1 is 10 meters long and crewed by a single pilot.
