Anne Lamont was the original founder of the Republic Engineering Corporation. She was known for being very opportunistic and business-oriented, taking very little time for a personal life. Although she was very respectful of the Jedi Order, she had an innate distrust of Force-users and felt they were too unpredictable.
Despite her business acumen, she was forced to step down as CEO of REC when the company lost most of its major assets after Damascus retook many of the Core Worlds for the Empire. One of her protégés, Sigarr Halomek, was elected to take her place and rebuild the company.
