The Battle of Gethsemane was the first attack on a Durgasi homesystem, and was intended to destabilize the Durgasi government, ending the Durgasi Conflict. It did not achieve this objective, but it did deny the Durgasi valuable resources.
The Battle[]
The attack on Gethsemane was initiated by the Black Star Confederacy, who wanted to end the Durgasi Conflict after several years of on-and-off warfare, thus stabilizing their western border.
The Confederate Gold Fleet, consisting of the Archer-class combat cruiser Hammer of Light and the Corellian Star Destroyers Vanguard and Victorious attacked Gethsemane, the first strike being a missile strike on the Durgasi Avatar-class battle cruiser Shard Unholy. While Hammer of Light and Vanguard concentrated their fire on the Shard Unholy, the Victorious directed its fire on the other Durgasi vessels.
After destroying the Shard Unholy, the Hammer of Light and the Vanguard joined with the Victorious to destroy the three remaining cruisers.
Then the Confederate vessels conducted a twenty-minute long bombardment of Gethsemane, concentrating on military installations. After the bombardment, ten Ravager transports entered the system, launching drop pods containing Confederate Drop Troopers.
Thirty-seven hours after the initial assault, Gethsemane was taken...
