The Battle of Kashyyyk was fought between the Xen'Chi Dominion and the New Republic's Second Sector Fleet.
The Xen'Chi fleet jumped in system and took the defenders completely by surprise. The battle quickly unfolded and Tardun's fleet took losses fast, his own flagship, Faithful Warrior suffered heavy damage. In a desprate act to buy time to escape Tardun ordered the ship to be rammed into the nearby damaged Xai'Chen command ship after most of the crew had departed.
Tardun and the survivors in lifeboats were picked up by the Bothan Assault Cruiser Destroyer of Tyrants before the fleet limped out of the system on its way back towards Mon Calamari.
