Battle of Kuras IV

The Battle of Kuras IV was the first and final battle in the Ryn spy Freyel's campaign to remove the crime lord Breggar Lark from power. After attaining the assistance of old acquaintances Arelim Seron and Gideon Corey, as well as new acquaintances Jag'Tai Vroenik and the Muir Commonwealth, Freyel launched an attack on the planet Kuras IV.

The Battle[]

The battle began when the Purveyor - the Muir Commonwealth Excalibur-class Cruiser under the command of Mun Kas'ik-Muir - and the Purgatory's Escape - a CEC CR90 Corvette under the command of Corey - dropped out of Hyperspace in the Kuras System. The system was being defended by Lark's mercenary fleet under the command of Commodore Lugus Cassius.

The naval combat was quick and nearly surgical with its precision. The Purveyor and the Purgatory's Escape focused on the shield generators of the Magister, which quickly buckled. Turning their firepower on the bridge, they cut the head off the snake - and the replacement, acting-Commodore Alvis Cato, happily surrendered the rest of the fleet.

On the ground, former pirate Arelim Seron and bounty hunter Jag'Tai Vroenik were neck-deep in trouble, fending off a small army of mercenaries all on their own - until backup arrived in the form of soldiers from the Purveyor, under Freyel's command, and soldiers from the Purgatory's Escape, under the leadership of Ailon Sergeant Tieradeff Jaggeron. The mercenaries surrendered soon afterward.

Lark would have escaped from his personal hangar if the Nalronian Yerrix had not beaten him there in the Leash. Yerrix attacked the crime lord, who crawled to the knees of Vroenik and Seron, who had just arrived behind him. He begged for his life, but went for a blaster - Vroenik took him down with a single shot. The battle was finished.
