The Battle of Millard began when a small GWA task force attacked the Confederate forces assembled at Millard. Outnumbered and outgunned, the pirates were destroyed.
The Battle[]
The pirates entered the system in force, annihilating an Aksum-class corvette as they entered the system. They then launched a massive missile attack, which was barely defeated before it could cause major damage.
The Confederate forces, under the command of First Admiral Daira Tel'Anh, then struck back. They returned fire, simultanously launching over 400 fighters of various types. Faced with the overwhelming firepower of the 2nd Expeditionary Fleet, the pirates were annihilated, though not before causing damage to every Confederate vessel in the system. Only the pirate flagship managed to escape.
Vice-Admiral Julius Marcus Deronin acquitted himself well during this battle.
