Hannah Lance is the third generation of the Black Canary after her grandmother and mother. She was trained, not only by the second Canary, Dinah Laurel Lance, but by her mother's Justice League allies. Hannah is the most lethal woman to ever carry the mantle of the Black Canary.

Biography[]

My Mom Can Beat Up Your Mom[]

Hannah Lance is the daughter of Dinah Laurel Lance, the second Black Canary. She had anything but a typical childhood. She grew up regularly interacting with the likes of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and a myriad of other super heroes. As she grew older her mother trained her in martial arts and helped her hone the hereditary power of the Canary Cry. For a time, she received direct training from the Amazons of Themyscira, creating a close friendship with Elena Prince during her stay on the island.

She became her mother's partner, battling crime at her side. On occasion she would even assist the Justice League. Hannah was present during the last known invasion by Lord Darkseid. The battle was brutal and many fell on both sides, including Wonder Woman and her own mother, Black Canary. The forces of Apokolips were repelled that day but the cost was high.

The Black Canary Sings Again[]

Hannah grieved for a time but knew her mother wouldn't want her wallowing in sadness, becoming bitter. Instead, she harnessed her anger and put it to use as the third woman to call herself Black Canary. She moved back to Star City, the place she had called home for the majority of her life. There she vowed to protect the streets and bring hope to those who needed it most. It wasn't long before she was joined by the new Green Arrow and son of the original. They became steadfast partners, eventually sharing their identities, neither really surprised by the others' secret identity. Eventually they started mentoring a younger generation of heroes; Artemis and Red Canary.

Powers[]

Canary Cry: Black Canary possesses a Metagene that allows her to produce a powerful sonic attack capable of damaging, disorienting, and stunning anyone she uses it on. According to Hannah, her Canary Cry is powerful enough to be capable of shattering metals as well as shattering a person's skull if directly on them. She is also able to use her voice in a low frequency to extinguish fires.

Sound Immunity: Black Canary's eardrums have a thick membrane which makes her immune to the effects of her own powers as well as other loud noises.
