The Bothan Assault Cruiser was designed by the Bothans shortly prior to the Xen'Chi Invasion. Though it has not seen combat or widescale deployment, the potential for it is great.
The Assault Cruisers were designed as front line vessels along the lines of the Victory Star Destroyer. They are slightly smaller than the VSD and have a leaner appearance They are fully modern vehicles though, taking full advantage of advanced ion Engines and hyperdrives to create a fast and maneuverable capital ship while mounting heavy shield generators and thick structural reinforcements.
The assault cruiser also carries two fighter bays amidships with dual launch and recovery pads (one on either side of the cruiser) and is capable of supporting four squadrons of starfighters.
