The Broadsword Carrier Cruiser was designed as another capital class warship along the idea of the now discontinued Pillager, but with heavier protection and weaponry. It is over a hundred meters longer than the other battlecruiser, space which it uses for larger power and shield generators. Unlike most warships, the bridge tower is not centered at the rear of the vessel, but rather at the fore and located off to one side like in aircraft carriers of the long gone water navies.
In addition to its formidable armament, the Broadsword comes in two versions, the HC-250 Carrier Cruiser, and the TC-250 Troop Carrier. The only difference between the two vessels is that the HC-250 is designed to have a greater starfighter capacity, 9 squadrons, at the cost of a vastly reduced troop capacity. Meanwhile, the TC-250 variant is the opposite, increasing its troop capacity to the 18,000 mark, while sacrificing on starfighter capacity, which is reduced to just 3 squadrons. In both variants, the total number of support craft remains constant, though the suggested craft types differ for each role.
