Jedi Knight Calis Misaar is a typical product of the new Jedi Order. Devoted, spirited, adventurous and self-sacrificing, she has put her life on the line many times.
History[]
Calis was born shortly after the conclusion of the Clone Wars. She spent much of her youth unaware that she was Force-sensitive. Childhood admiration of the Empire led her to enter military service with the planetary militia; she spent several years as a fire control systems specialist. Shortly before the Battle of Hoth, despite her gender and race, she was drafted into the Imperial Navy due to exemplary performance and a genuine need for qualified people.
In the Navy, she experienced substantial prejudice. One of her persecutors was her direct superior, who was the first to suspect that Calis was sensitive to the Force. She somehow passed an interview with a junior Inquisitor, but deserted to the Rebellion shortly thereafter.
She served aboard Home One during the Battle of Endor and thereafter. In 8 ABY, she left the Republic Navy and began to train as a Jedi with Luke Skywalker.
Calis was one of those who stayed behind on Coruscant when the Empire invaded. Along with Mahana Sira, she participated in guerrilla actions throughout the undercity. She temporarily returned to service with the Navy during the latter half of the Xen'Chi War, and participated in several key battles, including the Battle of Chil'a'Chin.
Currently, Calis is a teacher at the new Jedi Temple on Ossus. She is a high-ranking noncom reservist.
