A Jedi Sentinel is the name given to one of the three distinct branches of Jedi, the other two being Jedi Guardian and Jedi Consular. Sentinels seek a balance between the other two branches, blending physical combat and knowledge of the Force in equal measure.
While adherents to the Force and all that it can do, Sentinels are not blinded by faith and realize that the mystical energy field does have its limitations. As such they are not typically as skilled in combat as a Guardian, or as powerful in the Force as a Consular, however they tend to be more adaptable to situations that might cause problems for the other two classes. Sentinels often take on assignments not suited to the other Jedi branches.
