"On my homeworld, there are spiritual refuges for people to explore their natural talents and their faiths. It is a noble thing."
Prithi

Chalacta is a Mid Rim world known for the Chalactan Adepts and the Brotherhood of the Twilight. It is the homeworld of the Chalactans, a well-known, baseline Human culture. Chalactans live in small farms and cities that are considered to be very peaceful and spiritual.

History[]

Chalacta was once an uninhabited planet until it was colonized by the Chalactan Adepts. By the time of the Clone Wars, the Chalactans were represented in the Galactic Senate by Senator Yudrish Sedran, who opposed the Military Creation Act after consulting the wisdom of the Temple of Illumination.

Chalacta was one of many worlds that fell under the jurisdiction of the Galactic Empire following the end of the Clone Wars.

Exodus Divergence[]

At some point after 2 ABY, the peaceful Charon organization known as the Cult of Light set up a temple on the planet.

After the conquest of Coruscant in 13 ABY, the Empire was ousted from the planet by New Republic forces. These forces left at the beginning of the Xen'Chi War to reinforce other worlds. This allowed the extremist pro-Empire organization, known as the Golden Otop to flourish, and the small Republic garrison was eventually ousted by the Golden Otop.

The Golden Otop began to consolidate their power, mostly through violent means. Over 20,000 people disappeared the first month, another 40,000 following the month after. Eventually, a local politician named Tzek Dekat discovered that the Golden Otop planned to return to the Imperial fold. Determined to put a stop to it, he formed a small resistance group called the Old Order. A week later, he disappeared.

Tzek's children, Idrish and Kas Dekat, left the planet in search for help. They found it in the unlikely guise of the Brotherhood of the Twilight.

Liberation[]

The Brotherhood launched an assault with their fleet, led by the Deliverance, and quickly dismantled their fleet, before convincing an Imperial task force that there was nothing to gain in an attack. Ground assaults led by Lucath and Nietdaeth made short work of the Golden Otop. The Brotherhood, now in control, mopped up the Golden Otop forces, before handing power back to the legitimate Chalactan government.

In gratitude, the Chalactans offered the Brotherhood a home. The Brotherhood accepted, and the Chalactans gave them a valley in the Farout Mountains. Here, they built the Temple of the Twilight, a grand structure meant to house the Brotherhood.

War of Darkness[]

The Cult of Shadow attacked and wiped out the Cult of Light in late 17 ABY, despite the best efforts of the Brotherhood.

Unification Era[]

The Brotherhood and the Chalactan Adepts worked together on Force-related problems, both accepting their respective differences. The Brotherhood became a natural - and celebrated - part of Chalactan life, a force for order and justice, and were welcomed anywhere they went.

With the blessing of the Chalactan government, the Brotherhood of the Twilight officially joined the Jedi Order in 23 ABY, becoming a Chalactan extension of the Order. Nothing much changed, however - the Brotherhood continued to work with the Adepts, showing no sign of wanting to change their ways.

* Temple of the Twilight - less of a temple and more of a school, the Temple of the Twilight is the current home of the Brotherhood of the Twilight. It was built by the Chalactans in gratitude of the help given by the Brotherhood during the rebellion against the Golden Otop.
