Developed from the earlier Praetorian-class Frigate, the Class VI Freighter is a type of cargo hauler first built by the Corellian Engineering Corporation around 5,000 BBY. It has remained an impressive mainstay of CEC's roster and was still being produced by 70 BBY. It is rightly considered to be antiquated by the time of the Galactic Civil War but nonetheless remains a popular craft due to its affordability and ease of customization.
The Class VI is 180 meters in length and has a cargo capacity of 2,000 metric tons and a class three hyperdrive. In standard operation, she carries a crew of four, with provision for two passengers, and supplies for six months, but at a minimum, she can operate with just a pilot and navigator. Slow and very sluggish at sublight speeds, a standard Class VI lacks a backup hyperdrive, and is armed with a single turret-mounted laser cannon.
