Damir Daktren is the son of renowned Imperial officer Dolomar Daktren, but he's worked hard to earn his place in the Imperial Navy without relying on his father for promotions. He graduated from the Imperial Academy a few years after the Empire and the New Republic established a lasting peace, so opportunities to prove himself through battle were infrequent. However, Damir handled himself well when it came to patrol missions and anti-pirate operations.
He was eventually promoted to Captain when given command of the Emissary and spent a few years escorting diplomats and ambassadors for various functions. It was a thankless job, but his professionalism and well-trained crew did not go unnoticed. When the Hapes Consortium reached out for help in 41 ABY, Damir and the Emissary were selected to safely transport James Ardin II to the Hapes Cluster for negotiations.
