"I may be a small fish in a big pond, but even small fish can makes ripples that turn into tidal waves."
— Davit Jipper

Davit Jipper grew up on R'alla, a planet located in the Corporate Sector. When he was old enough, he joined the Corporate Sector Authority's Security Division to help keep the peace in that part of space. Although he was a talented officer, he quickly grew disgusted by the amount of corruption found throughout the government. Fortunately his talents were recognized by Sulimurr, who still had several contacts within CSA space, and she offered him a position in Juoi Security & Inquiry's naval division.

Davit took her up on her offer and became a naval officer for the Sovereignty of Juoi. Davit proved to be a solid officer and would go on to achieve a certain amount of fame during the Battle of Juoi. He helped to drive back the Empire with a Marauder-class Corvette by taking down several of the Imperial escort ships. His actions during the battle were so revered that his ship was renamed the Champion of Juoi in honor of his feat.

Davit would further distinguish himself by providing support for Tulsar Leidias and his daughter, Kalja, while they hunted down the Darksider Sivter. In the early years of the hunt, Tulsar would leave his daughter on the Champion with Davit and the crew while he investigated any leads about Sivter on whichever planet they visited. As a result, Kalja soon regarded Davit as a second father and the rest of the crew as extended family.

Although Davit tried to discourage Kalja's way of thinking, he came to realize that there would be no changing her mind and did his best to accept it. The truth was that while he adored Kalja and greatly respected Tulsar, his own humble nature made him feel unworthy of being on the same level as the Jedi.

The time would eventually come when Kalja went off to formally join the Jedi. Davit and his crew remained with Tulsar for a few more years before the arrival of the Xen'Chi Dominion saw him and the Champion recalled to help protect Juoi. Davit expected to be forgotten by the Leidiases after his return, but Kalja surprised him by staying in touch despite her increasingly busy life.

Davit would come to fully accept his father-figure position to Kalja and would even find opportunities to help her out every now and then, such as delivering supplies sent by Juoi to the Jedi Order on Onderon or taking part in the Battle of Arcanix. He was one of the many guests to attend Tulsar's funeral as well as Kalja's marriage to Delth Ardin.

Many years later, Davit turned down Kalja's offer to join her on Tython. He was content with his life on Juoi and felt a sense of duty to keep it protected. However he and Kalja continued to have regular correspondence and he would still make time to visit her on occasion.
