Koensayr's Dianoga-class Assault Starfighter is one of the last and most popular ship designs produced by the company before becoming known for the Y-wing. The ship is a heavier-powered starfighter is popular among both planetary starfleets and pirate groups alike.
Though the strength of the ship's weapons is close to that of many wartime vessels, the production of the starfighter raised few eyebrows, as by the time the ship became popular the Republic had already begun its slide towards destruction. The model is rarely seen after the Clone Wars except in the hands of pirates, outlaws, and mercenaries.
Bulkier than some of the quicker starships of its time, the Dianoga boasts an impressive set of fire-linked laser cannons and a relatively powerful ion cannon as well. This makes it exceptionally popular among pirates who wish to capture vessels intact, as it can withstand a few blasts from escort fighters and disable without damaging the target.
