Description:

The Endor-class Armed Transport is little more than a basic refit of the civilian Nova Drive 3-Z light freighter into a more military capable transport by the Questral Falls Repair Yards. The most intensive modification to the Endor is an upgraded hyperdrive, but the most obvious is replacing the two laser cannon turrets with a pair of more powerful quad laser cannons. Other notable modifications include the addition of a back-up shield generator which is identical to the main shield generators, the addition of a CEC trickerster decoy launcher, an Arakyd missile launcher, enlarged doors and ramps to faciliate carrying vehicles, and hypertransciever. All of these modifications took up a fair amount of cargo space. Consequently, the Endor-class has less cargo space than the original 3-Z freighter.

Endors primarily serve the same roles as the Lambda-class shuttle does for most fleets. It primarily ferries around people and cargo between bases and ships. The Endor can also be used as a dropship for planetary landings, but it is not really optimized for such use as compared to other ships like the Y-4 Raptor or the Sentinel-class Landing Craft. Rumor has it that some Endors are used in covert observation roles or as pirate bate by Task Force Audacious, but this rumor remains unconfirmed.
