The F-14 Tomcat is a multi-role fighter with a primary mission of air superiority. Instead of using engines to brute-force its way through the air, the fighter's aerodynamic design allows it to attain speeds that most craft cannot. The fighter has a variable-wing design, computers controlling the angle of the wings for maximum lift and maneuvering ability at any given speed. As the fighter moves faster, the wings sweep backwards to give the fighter a shape that more easily moves through the air.
Armament consists of a pair of laser cannon in the wing roots, and eight hardpoints on the fuselage. The fighter carries 25 cm of Class B Ablative armor, allowing the ship to sustain a decent amount of damage before hull breach. Basic shields are provided, although the low rating merely serves as a means for the craft to take a shot from an ambushing enemy fighter without damage, thus properly warning the unattentive pilot that perhaps he should consider evasive maneuvers.
