Hisani Sane was a Jedi General during the time of the Clone Wars. She was thrust into the position of command over the Vanguard Fleet despite her youth and inexperience, much to the chagrin of her second in command, Reng Kasr. Hisani proved a quick learner, however, and following Kasr's example she matured into a sound tactician though her philosophy towards war would always prove to be a point of contention between the two.
Hisani refused to sacrifice the lives of her clones needlessly if at all. The Jedi preached detachment as a way of life and yet despite being a Jedi Master Hisani would always take unnecessary risks to save lives. Fortunately, despite their differences the two of them managed to work together and achieve vital victories that changed the course of the war.
Although she was fully Pantoran, Hisani lacked the yellow face tattoos seen on most of her species that denote family lineage. This was due to the fact that she was identified early in life as Force-sensitive and given to the Jedi Order when she was still an infant - as was the common practice at the time.
Hisani's only connection to her biological family was her last name and a pendant representing the Pantoran Moon Goddess that was bequeathed to her by her mother before she was handed over to the Jedi. Although Hisani never put any faith in the Moon Goddess herself, she usually wore the pendant prominently as a show of respect to her place of birth.
Despite her heroic service during the Clone Wars, Hisani was a victim of Order 66. Official reports claim she died on Kashyyyk during the battle there when her clone troops turned on her. However, there are some conflicting accounts that imply she might have survived for a few years more in exile before being hunted down and killed.
