Joy is the homeworld of the Joyites or Fedreki, who live in cities above and below the surface, as do other citizens of the Jade Empire. Joy is the administrative capital of the JE, and an orbit over Joy is the standard position of the Shang Ra'la.
History[]
The Joyite civilization existed largely underground for thousands of years; when Jade Worlds exploration forces discovered the planet, they believed it to be uninhabited, and war resulted but was quickly resolved. It now functions as the capital of the Jade Worlds.
The Joyite civilization had achieved spaceflight roughly one hundred years earlier, but had not discovered the hyperdrive.
