- "Sometimes one needs to make sacrifices to effect needed change. I've served the Trinivii kajidic loyally for most of my life because I believe in how they do business. I want to see them thrive in all things. I've toiled thanklessly under Sivvi for years trying to pick up her slack here on Crucible, but she's placed us in a hole we can't easily get out of."
- — Kol Tal
Kol Tal faithfully served as the majordomo for the Trinivii Kajidic's holdings on Nar Kresh for many years, doing his best to make sure the kajidic's gladiators made a good showing of themselves within the arenas. He was frequently conflicted between doing a good job and having to follow Sivvi Trinivii Socha's sometimes questionable commands. Things finally came to a head after one of the kajidic's most promising gladiators, Skarrek, went feral after the loss of Ket Maliss. When Sivvi commanded Kol to take Skarrek out of isolation and fight again, with no apparent plan on how to accomplish it, he knew he had to something to bring attention to Sivvi's mismanagement.
Predictably, Skarrek's release was a bloodbath. The rogue Barabel slaughtered everyone around him. His last victim was Kol Tal himself who intentionally threw himself into the pit to die at Skarrek's hands, knowing that Sivvi would not be able to easily cover up his death. Kol Tal's sacrifice brought the problems of the Trinivii holdings on Nar Kresh to the attention of the leader of the kajidic, Mortrassa Trinivii Jian, who assigned a much more capable Hutt, Dorval Trinivii Jian, to oversee things from that point on.
Kol Tal's position would eventually be given to Verno Lamai.
