Similar to the Shang Ra'la in concept if not scale, Loki Station is the Jade Empire’s top-secret location of choice. Analysts and Intelligence officers walk the halls with Patriots and astrophysicists in a facility devoted to the study and acquisition of the obscure and even weird. Among secret Jade Empire research facilities, Loki is the cream of the crop.

Design[]

Built into the rock of four (largely hollow) asteroids, the station includes living quarters, offices, laboratories, storage facilities, and massive computer capability and data storage.

The station orbits a completely useless star, one of hundreds in the Jade Empire alone. There is no sign or record that it has ever been visited.

Defensive Capabilities[]

Of course, the station’s greatest defense is secrecy: even its existence is a closely guarded secret. Nevertheless, the station boasts a powerful shield generator, 10 quad lasers and 2 turbolaser turrets. Aside from these emplacements’ crews, fifteen Shau'ghunate Guard Patriots are on hand as necessary - ‘as necessary’ meaning whenever some hypothetical person discovers the installation and decides to go up against Patriots. Which is never.

History[]

The station was originally constructed in 6 ABY as an adjunct to the Five Rings research facility that was later destroyed by the Uul'ba-Rai. It survived the Jihad and replaced Five Rings; later it would also replace portions of the high-level physics research facilities on the gutted Kinetic Energy Tapping Station. It was here that the path into the Extragalactic Star Cluster was discovered; here, too, were analyzed the pieces of unknown technology brought back from the Dyson sphere within that cluster.

In 17 ABY, JEAF Commander (ret.) Brembla Kol-Rekali took up residence as a consultant and a Patriot trainer.
