The MC90 Star Cruiser is a starship bred for war.
Though not much larger than an MC80b Star Cruiser, the MC90 possesses weaponry that rivals that of the MC85. Virtually all non-essential compartments have been removed to make room for gunnery emplacements. Widely used after the Battle of Endor and in the New Republic's campaigns to oust the Galactic Empire from the Core, the MC90 is usually the flagship of any New Republic fleet.
Produced in the Mon Calamari Shipyards, the Sluis Van Shipyards, and the Hast Shipyards, the MC90 is the first Mon Calamari Star Cruiser designed specifically as a warship for non-Mon Calamari. Controls and displays onboard the ship are designed for compatibility with most major species, allowing for officers other than Mon Calamari to pilot the vessels. The command center is a clear bubble in the center of the ship, giving the bridge officers a vision of the area below as well as above.
Its focus on heavy weapons and large hangars shows a realistic assessment of the firepower required to challenge Imperial-class Star Destroyers.
