The Marauder Missile Corvette, also known as the New Republic Marauder due to its near exclusive use by that government, is essentially the same ship as the standard Marauder-class Corvette. However, the hull varies slightly to better accommodate its function as a missile cruiser. It is not an actual design from Sienar Fleet Systems, but instead a very common modification that the New Republic gives them and thus warrants a separate mention.
Marauder Missile Corvettes were first innovated by the Rebel Alliance and were popular enough to survive its transition into the New Republic. The ships are highly versatile and relatively inexpensive, ensuring that they find their way into many New Republic fleets for an added punch.
Although modified on a ship-by-ship basis during the days of the Rebel Alliance, these ships are now built by the Republic Engineering Corporation.
