Earl Matthe'i Salphoris (MAT-thee-eye sal-FOR-iss) was a scion of a Force-strong noble house when he was picked for Force training by Emperor Xal Shun in 10 BBY. His education included administration, diplomacy, statecraft and military command. At the age of 29, he became an Earl, inheriting his family estate on one of the worlds in the Isen Sector, as well as a level of responsibility in Shun's administration and Force hierarchy. One of his close allies was Duke Karak Ror, who would eventually become the Jade Empire's representative on the Sojourn.
During the course of the Bandit Kingdoms interregnum, Earl Salphoris kept a very low profile, doing his best to protect his domain and his family. When Jade and Sandian forces conquered the sector, Ror threw his lot in with them. He eventually became the sector's representative to the royal family, a post he continues to hold.
Later, when the Jade Empire was fully unified, Salphoris joined the unique support group known as the Patriots.
Force Abilities[]
As a nobleman in Isen, Salphoris benefited from Dark Jedi training under Emperor Xal Shun. He is fully competent with the Core Powers, and knows the principles involved in Force Lightning. His lightsabre skills have been tested in battle and in personal duels.
Although he is loyal, keeps the laws and has been thoroughly vetted, Earl Salphoris still follows the Dark Side. He wants to switch to the Light Side but claims he is too busy.
