While meteors and meteorites have hit Earth in the ancient past, many of these meteorites have hit much more recently.

Known Meteorites[]

Star City[]

Many years ago, a meteorite of some unknown origin crashed in the state of Washington. Creating a massive crater, the meteorite laid in the crater. Then, different earthquakes forced the meteorite down in the depths of the earth. Ten decades after Jeb Star founded Fort Plymouth, the Great Fire claimed much of the land. During the rebuilding process, builders uncovered this meteorite. Attempts to decipher the meteorite's contents failed, and the meteorite was transported to the Museum of Astronomy in downtown Star City.

This meteorite would be taken from the museum by members of the Hand, despite the best efforts of Red Canary and Artemis along with The Tigers.

National City[]

This meteorite fell much more recently than the one in Star City. It fell into the bay of National City, just off the coast of California. The United States Army was sent into retrieve it. Removing it from the bay, they took it to a location near the city to study it. Meanwhile, Kenzie Sander's grandfather alerted her to the meteorite, believing metal inside of it to be nth metal.

Kenzie investigated the meteorite and determined it did not contain nth metal. Her presence raised alarms and after a brief skirmish, the meteorite was transported east out of National City. However, the interactions caused some kind of energy release, almost killing Major Miguel Santiago. He would be given a Dilusteel containment suit to save his life, while the meteorite was whisked away to parts unknown.

Houston[]

Roughly ten to eleven years ago, another meteorite fell, this time into the Gulf of Mexico. Fished out of the water by Sapphire Development and the US military, it has been housed at a SD research facility in Houston. Experimentation linked to the meteorite have been linked to two deaths, Lee Cheng and Arthur Morales.

In the present day, David Waller and Rowan Chapman of Task Force 141 visited Houston to see the SD facility due to Waller's interest in learning more about what Sapphire Development. While in town, they were alerted as surges of feedback from the meteorite affected the entire Houston power grid. Arthur Morales, thought dead, was attempting to steal the meteorite. He was thwarted through the efforts of Waller, Chapman, and Harold Cheng, the son of Lee Cheng.
