Parek Vuusen was a Jedi Knight in the New Jedi Order. Born twenty-one years prior to the Battle of Yavin, he was not recognized by the Jedi Council at birth for his Force sensitivity. He was not discovered to have Force sensitivity until after the Battle of Endor.

He was one of the first to join Cadden Blackthorne and Zan Fyar in their quest to destroy the Cult of Shadow. Never at peace with the ideas inherent in the Jedi Code, his lust for power and influence motivated his decision, and the peaceful ideals of the Jedi way angered him, as he felt that he was never in control of his destiny and that his life would be ruled by the Jedi Code. Longing for independence, Parek relied heavily on his emotions, especially the rage that flowed through him, and, as a result, fled the Jedi Order with Blackthorne and Fyar.
