"This place can be as dangerous as it is beautiful, I hope that fact will help teach each of you a greater level of respect for the galaxy and the many challenges it will present you with."
— Devon Vos, speaking to the first class to arrive at the Praxeum

The Praxeum Moon is the largest of several moons orbiting the gas giant of Prax-II and it's the only planetary body in the Praxeum System known to support life. It is a terrestrial moon of diverse terrains that supports a large variety of flora and fauna. One native species developed on the moon, a primitive insectoid species that refer to themselves as Chirpers.

At least two ancient temples dot the moon, with artifacts and other evidence indicating that the Jedi and the Sith both made use of the moon millennia before it was discovered by Devon Vos and Draven Artemis. Despite seeing prior use, the system was uncharted when it was found by the pair, indicating that the system was either omitted from official star maps or deliberately removed.

History[]

The history of the moon is a little murky. It was used at one point by an ancient sect of the Jedi Order in the early days of the Galactic Republic. They built at least one temple, but it's unknown what happened to them. They left behind several Holocrons and other records that would be preserved through the ages.

Much later, during the Great Sith War, the moon was used as a base by the Sith who developed Sithspawn from the local Chirper population at another temple. Before these bioweapons, who called themselves "The Deadly," could be deployed to join the war Kalja Valie Leidias sacrificed herself to seal them away. The coordinates for the system were likely removed from galactic records after this point to try and make sure no one else could gain access to what the Sith had created.

The Praxeum Moon would end up being rediscovered during the Imperial Period by Devon Vos and Draven Artemis on one of their many archeological excursions into the Outer Rim territories, but Devon did not return until much later in his life when he was scouting potential locations for his soon to be created Jedi Praxeum. This seemingly uncharted moon orbiting a large gas giant was perfect for the school he intended to setup far from the prying eyes and politics of the rest of the galaxy.

With the aide of the Red Star Alliance, the ancient and massive temple complex used by the Jedi millennia ago was excavated and repurposed to serve as the new Jedi Praxeum's home. Devon would go on to use the records uncovered inside the temple to learn about a myriad of possible Force-sensitive bloodlines. It was through the use of these records that Devon Vos then did most of his recruiting for his new Praxeum.

As the Jedi of the galaxy slowly but surely reformed the Jedi Order within the New Republic the Praxeum was eventually moved to Coruscant and the facilities on the Praxeum Moon were moved into the care of the Red Star Alliance Forces left stationed in the system under the Command of Alexis Tre'cov.

The moon was briefly involved in the War of Darkness when the Cult of Shadow infiltrated the RSA defenses in order to collect the Sithspawn hive that had survived since the Great Sith War. Despite the best efforts of Devon Vos and his allies, the cult was able to get away with their prize. However, after the incident, the Praxeum Moon remained untouched throughout the rest of the war.

Eventually, when the Alliance lost control of it's home in the Chren Star Cluster, the remainder of the military forces loyal to the RSA relocated to the Praxeum System and have remained there since - occasionally performing raids against the new xenophobic government of Chren.
