Design[]
The Republic-class cruiser was designed by Kuat Drive Yards for the New Republic. The new Republic desired a midsized ship design to replace many of their older vessels, to this end they approached Kuat Drives Yards to create a next generation warship. By expanding the ships size and adding in modern equipment they were able use the designs of the older Arquitens-class. They created a platform capable of atmospheric flight that filled out the multi-purpose role requested by the New Republic. Modern construction techniques and standardized equipment onboard the Republic-class made the ship quick and cheap to produce in large numbers. Currently the New Republic is ordering masses of these ships to fill out their fleet.
Behind the Scenes[]
The inspiration for the Republic-class Cruiser came from the canon Republic-class. The blanks were filled in by the creator for the purposes of using it as a next generation republic ship.
