Ruusaan Kahd was the leader of the Black Brigade. Assigned to the rank of Al'verde (Commander) by Mandalore Cadden Blackthorne, she was trained by her father to become a deadly warrior when she was young. Her skills immediately gained her recognition among the Mandalorians, and she became a Journeyman Protector of her homeworld in her twenties.
She continued to hold this position through the formation of the Mandalorian Protectors under Cadden Blackthorne. After the Battle of Concord Dawn, she resigned her position in favor of starting the Black Brigade.
