The Sabii Bee is native to that inhospitable world. A type of honeybee, it subsists off decaying flesh, and builds its nests inside large carcasses once the carcass only attracts predators small or smart enough to be deterred by the lethal bees.
The modern form of Sabii Bee has a vastly stronger poison than the original version: more than three or four stings can be fatal. Scientists believe they were a minor and recent experiment in Sith Alchemy, perpetrated by either the Detori Order or Darth Sirena. Neither source is available for comment. Possible Detori perpetrators include Quinis Asanis, La-Reia Beorht (who may have altered the bees during the months she spent stranded on Sabii), and Ald Sorosel.
During Sirena's occupation of Sabii, she realized the usefulness of the bees and placed small hives of them inside various undead abominations.
Various members of the Dark Council may have altered the bees further. Some accounts speak of Sabii Bees acting as a true hive mind, and of varying poisons.
