- "This could change the face of the galaxy, Karric. We will need this armor in the coming war."
- — Garen Starfall
Spectre Armor was a special type of armor that was designed to specifications by some of the best minds at MandalTech. It was incredibly durable, nearly indestructable, and very versatile. It was also prohibitively expensive, cited by Karric Nayms, CEO of MandalMotors and MandalTech, at around two million credits per unit to manufacture. This was in part due to the lack of Mandalorian iron to process this armor in high demand, as well as the additional features housed in the armor itself.
Up through the prototype stage, the armor was considered classified information. Only Karric, Garen Starfall, and the technicians that worked on it knew of its existence. However, it was known that this secret would not be held for long, as once a working prototype was made, it woudl only be a matter of time before it became public knowledge. Garen was concerned about the Jedi Order finding out about the armor, due to its questionable ethical ramifications and the amount of power it put in the Mandalorians' hands, and was particularly focused on keeping this information from them.
Individuals wearing this particular set of armor typically equipped the new M-88 Blackstorm Assault Rifle. The combination of the warrior wearing the armor, the armor itself, and the weapon, made for the perfect matchup of skill and technology.
Statistics[]
Spectre Armor featured an array of systems and software, which contributed to its cost. The most obvious features of the armor were its advanced regeneration amplifiers, which allowed the wearer to move faster, take more damage, and recover from battle wounds quickly, due to an integrated stimulant-delivery system. It was further equipped with an on board "micro-frame" computer capable of running a suite of battle management software.
Another feature to the armor was its contained environmental sealant with an independent air supply for use in space and extreme planetary conditions, which could be activated and deactivated upon user input. This feature, however, had limited use, as it employed built-in stores of sealant which had to be replenished after a certain number of uses, and also required maintenance of the armor itself after use.
To prevent detection by passive thermal sensors, the body heat of the wearer was channeled to the base of the feet of the armor, where it could be dispersed into the ground, allowing for ideal conditions for its wearer's typical line of assignments.
Finally, the suit was able to recognize elevated heart rates and pupil movement in people close by. This could be utilized as a lie detector and augmented the persuasive ability of the wearer, allowing for enhanced negotiation skills (whether aggressive or not). This same array also monitored the wearer and regulated sub-systems with extreme efficiency to allow for greater response times during combat and increased mobility.
