The Swift Light was given as a gift to Jedi Master Kalja Sairu Leidias by Director Sulimurr of the Sovereignty of Juoi following the Xen'Chi Invasion. Since Kalja's previous ship, the Mystic Aura, had been destroyed in order to destroy GAIT, Sulimurr felt it was only right for Kalja's homeworld to show its appreciation for everything she had done for the galaxy by giving her a new one.
The Swift Light is a heavily modified Baudo-class Star Yacht. It was worked on by the best techs and mechanics that Juoi had to offer in order to give Kalja a ship that would be able to stand up to whatever the galaxy threw at her. In addition to better engines, shields, and armor, the Swift Light supports a much improved armament over a stock Baudo-class. The laser turret has been upgraded to a quad laser turret for better defense against starfighters. In keeping with Kalja's preferred philosophy of non-violence, two ion cannons have been added to the ship to give her the option of simply disabling the enemy instead of destroying him. A variable warhead launcher was also installed to give the Swift Light an extra punch if needed.
The ship is fast enough to keep pace with most standard starfighters and sports enough protection to let it take a good pounding before systems start to fail. As a kind of analogous system to Kalja’s excellent detection skills with the Force, an advanced sensor suite was also added to give the Swift Light the ability to identify potentially hostile craft before they can do the same to the Baudo-class.
Three of the passenger rooms were removed to give the Swift Light a layout more fitting of a Jedi Master. One was converted into a small library, where Kalja is able to store the knowledge and artifacts she has acquired during her journeys. The two other rooms were combined into a modest sparring room to help work on lightsaber technique. Much like her father’s ship, where the initial idea was taken, the walls, ceiling, and floor are lined with lightsaber resistant materials and there are ports near the ceiling that can disgorge up to ten training remotes.
