History[]
A re-engineered repulsor version of the T3-B Heavy Attack Tank. The concept of the vehicle was first thought up during the civil war. The advantages of a hover version of the powerful T3-B would have helped the Alliance on a number of occasions. While there were a few prototypes during this time they wouldn't see wide spread production or use due to the Alliance constantly on the move and Yutrane-Trackata was on the Empire's "Watch List". Now under the Republic Engineering Corporation the T3-Bh could be looked into again, which started when plans for a version of the vehicle was donated by the Alliance Veteran Caden Light. These plans were refined and optimized into the present day T3-Bh which outperforms even the prototypes used by the Alliance.
Performance[]
The T3-Bh maintains the typical speed of the tracked version, unlike previous incarnations of the vehicle, but has greater maneuvering and easily navigates through terrain the tracked version would have difficulty with.
The tank's armor is a new alloy that is lighter put provides better protection from laser and even turbolaser weapons. The lighter alloy helps the tank maintain its top speed and new found maneuvering.
The Heavy Blaster Cannons were replaced with Medium Laser Cannons giving the tank a primary weapon capable of damaging an AT-AT. In addition the successful proton missile launcher was given added functions and can be used as a form of light artillery, able to track and attack targets for miles.
New systems and a rearrangement of the controls reduce the necessary crew for the tank down to a pilot and a gunner.
Other information[]
With the removal of the big tracked assembly and engine, as well as the lengthening and widening of the hull, and the reduction of needed crew, the T3-Bh has room for three heavily armed and armored troopers. The tank is set up to allow for quick easy exit and entrance without sacrificing the endurance of the vehicles Armor or structure.
Its outer hull roughly remains the same shape so any additional attachments that the typical T3-B can use, the T3-Bh can use as well with little to no additional modifications.
