Exodus Information

The fugly T5-B Light Tank was Snow Industries' attempt to diversify their holdings into ground vehicles. Like many of the company's products, the T5 is actually a remaking of a different company's product: the A-wing. Inspired by the Empire's TIE Crawler, Jonathan Snow set out to create the Republic's own version of a light assault vehicle based on familiar controls. The T5-B was the result, and manages to accomplish its parent's craft high speed by incorporating many technological elements from the Empire's CAV PX-10 and TIE Crawler, but fitting it into the design concepts of both the A-wing and the Old Republic's AT-PT. Despite its design heritage, it is often compared to the AT-ST Walker by tacticians.

The resulting vehicle is generally faster and more maneuverable than its opponents. This often leads them being used to conduct hit-and-fades, and conduct basic skirmishing. Combined with their slightly lower than average armor(for a tank), T5-Bs typically aren't used to openly fight large battles in formations. If in such a battle, they typically are put behind heavier vehicles, and assist by their proton mortars past friendly units to bombard enemy units with indirect fire. It's primary weapons, the same laser cannons and rotating mounts used on the A-wing are not only used on ground targets, but also to attack low-flying aircraft. The only interesting system of note is the tank's inclusion of its own repair facities: in the rear of the tank are a pair of LE series droids, spare parts, and several other engineering and repair items.

The T5-B was Snow Industries first foray into military vehicles, and still remains its largest success in terms of units ordered, even after the company has introduced both the New Republic Guardian and the Armatus-class Assault Boat. T5-Bs are beginning to become somewhat common in the Republic's army. Some dozens of the tank are assigned to Project Seven's ground complement.
