Tarix was a violently inhospitable planet. It was mostly covered in lava-filled valleys and rivers as well as sharply rugged mountains. There were very few people located there. The Sith Lord Darth Sadis took over an ancient stone castle, built long before the world's terrain became so dark. It was here that he used the Force and ancient Sith Alchemy to create the only native creature to the world, the Blood Wraith. This planet was also the where the Shadowtrooper project took place.
After the conclusion of the Sith Revolution, Darth Trayus lead his army here and attacked the world. Upon the battle's conclusion, Sadis was dead, and those that failed to submit loyalty to Trayus died. The planet became the official headquarters of the restructured Sith Brotherhood, and became Trayus's primary place of residence when he was not needed for the management of the Crimson Empire, until the Brotherhood finished renovating the Dark Force Temple and the citadel on Dromund Kaas. At that point, much of the knowledge and information that was stored in the Tarix castle was relocated to the planet, save for select artifacts directly pertaining to the Sith.
