- "I do not pretend to be some celebrity in the arena, nor do I believe myself to be better than the likes of Asael, Verax, or any of the other champions. I know my place, Mandalore. You had best learn yours, or you will wind up just like the thousands of other casualties before you. Slayer of Shorbecca or not, you are still nothing but Bantha fodder, here."
- — Trassk to Cadden Blackthorne
Trassk was a gladiator of Direj Kajidic and, prior to Cadden Blackthorne's arrival on Nar Kresh, he was the gladiator that Kroda was grooming to become his new champion, should the current champion of Direj kajidic, Asael, die in the arena.
From a young age, Trassk was taken into slavery and sold to Kroda. The Hutt eventually saw potential in him to bring in consistent profits and sent him to the Crucible to train as a gladiator. When he arrived at the Direj training ground, he quickly took to befriending the rising star Asael, and the two grew a camaraderie that would last years. Trassk quickly grew to embrace his new way of life and took his new profession very seriously.
Despite his standing as the next in line for being the Direj champion, and the amount of devotion he took in training for the opportunity, Trassk and Asael were close friends and considered each other brothers in both stature and in the arena. By 19 ABY Trassk had been noted to have learned nearly all of Asael's moves and was slated to replace the Devaronian as champion the day his usefulness had worn out. That day never came, however, as after Cadden joined the Direj gladiator ranks, he rose in status and reputation and, against Kroda's own wishes and desires, had eventually become the new champion of the kajidic, following Asael's death at the hands of Skarrek and the Battle of Vontor reenactment.
A few days prior to Cadden's final fight against Skarrek, the new champion of Direj kajidic offered a plan to escape Nar Kresh to the remaining gladiators. Trassk remained against this plan, noting that there was nothing for him outside this way of life and that the very idea of escape was nothing short of suicide.
