After the death of Stephen Strange at the hands of the Chrell, the Sorcerer Supreme spot was vacated. The remaining magic users of the world banded together, forming their own organization to protect the earth. Led by Noel Gabriele, the group founded Sanctums throughout the world, with each user protecting their region. There have been numerous fractures over the years, as various members are not beholden from attempting to usurp power from other members.
