The Vargo Liberators were the pirate group formed and led by Mashaka Vargo, an Ubese pirate interested in purchasing the planet Kuras IV. When he discovered that he had been duped by Breggar Lark, he began to investigate means of taking the planet by force. After the Kurasian Rebellion, Vargo learned that the vessel of Ragnar Starflight, a former member of the Vargo Liberators, one Purgatory's Escape, was involved in the First Battle of Kuras IV. At that point, he initiated the Vargo Liberators War against the newly formed Kuras Tetrarchy, which lasted a year before Vargo was defeated in the Second Battle of Kuras IV and the Liberators were disbanded.
