The ninth moon of Varunda is covered in jungle and scars from orbital bombardment. Its high-tech forest cities house two billion people, and it is still a major and central world of the sector and of the Jade Empire as a whole. Major trade routes connect Varunda IX to Joy, the Kartanin Dominion, Trevel'ka and the Emerald Way.
History[]
For four thousand years, Varunda IX was capital of the Jade Worlds. It suffered a major orbital bombardment by the Uul'ba-Rai, which killed most of its population. Major damage was done to most urban centres, but a population of two billion has been rebuilding - with significant help from Joy, the Black Star Confederacy, Kartanin Dominion and Kingdom of Halcyon, at various points - since the initial attack, and Varunda IX is now a functional world again. It continues to combine life and technology in surprising ways, from green macrostructures to cyborg cultures. Varunda IX is the homeworld of the Command Tactical Implant, Admiral Jita Hangetsu, and cities built around forests.

For a thousand years after its colonization, a small portion of Varunda IX's sai'mrai belonged secretly to the Brotherhood of Kusanagi, a Sith splinter group whose teachings would later be resurrected by Colonel Siriss Cortann.
