The Viscount-class Star Defender is a warship that was developed by the Mon Calamari for use by the New Republic and was envisioned as an equivalent to the Executor-class Super Star Destroyer. Although almost as large as the Executor-class, the superior construction skills of the Mon Calamari have enabled the vessel to require a substantially smaller crew than its Imperial counterpart.

The Viscount-class also differs in other ways. While it carries fewer starfighters than the Imperial ship, it has stronger shields and faster engines than the other vessel. However, it suffers from one of the main drawbacks of the Executor-class in that it is inordinately expensive to build. Only a small handful have ever been built.
