The Warlord-class Light Cruiser was the most common capital scale warship found in the Navy of the Black Star Confederacy from 25 BBY. It was an extremely reliable design that performed as well as, or better than, most top of the line Imperial cruisers.
The Warlord was typically deployed in groups of three or four when patrolling the borders of the Confederacy. When performing in sector patrols they typically tended to be found in pairs.
The ship itself was anything but your streamlined cruiser. There were several targetting sensors, long-range communications arrays, etc. jutting from various points on the vessel (which sometimes made appealing targets to enemy starfighters).
In 17 ABY, the class was upgraded with antimatter reactors and BioComps.
