The YT-1930 Light Freighter is a moderately successful YT series design that was released by the Corellian Engineering Corporation shortly before the Battle of Yavin.
The design of the YT-1930 is a variant on the successful YT-1300 Light Freighter, but places the cockpit along the centerline of the ship, and adds two wedge-shaped cargo areas at the rear to double the cargo capacity of its predecessor. Most come with a single laser cannon turret.
Though some considered the YT-1930 to be the pinnacle of the YT series, the it has never gained the following the older YT-1300 has.
